October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month
October 2010 marks the seventh annual National Cybersecurty Awareness Month sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Americans can follow a few simple steps to keep themselves safe online. By doing so, you will not only keep your personal assets and information secure but you will also help to improve the overall security of cyberspace. In this video from 2009, President Obama explains how the growth of digital networks has increased the need to invest in online security.
This year, the DHS has launched its "Stop. Think. Connect" national cybersecurity public awareness campaign. This national initiative promotes simple steps the public can take to increase their safety and security online.
