Beware of unsecured "hotspots," warns the FBI

There are more than 68 thousand wireless "hot spots" in the U.S. Did you know that many are not secured?? That makes it much easier for a hacker to eavesdrop on your Internet communications. Sometimes, hackers set up their own hotspot hoping to lure wireless users.? Once you connect to the hacker's network,?all your sensitive information, including user ID, passwords, credit card numbers, etc.?basically belongs to the hacker. The FBI warns us to beware of unsecured or bogus networks, and offers some simple precautions to keep us safe. |
